On May 23, 2026, the 5th Meeting of the First Academic Committee of Jinan Microecological Biomedicine Shandong Laboratory was convened smoothly. Academician Li Lanjuan, Director of the Laboratory Academic Committee, and Academician Tan Weihong, Deputy Director, attended the meeting. Committee members including Academicians Zhang Yun, Zheng Shusen, Xu Jianguo, Gu Xiaosong, Shang Hong, Wang Junzhi and Wang Jianwei, as well as Professors Yuan Zhenghong and Li Xingang were present.Professor Wu Nanping, Executive Deputy Director of the Laboratory, Professor Xiao Yonghong and Professor Jiang Chunping, Deputy Directors of the Laboratory, principal persons-in-charge of functional departments, heads of scientific research platforms and core research personnel also attended the session. The meeting was presided over by Academician Li Lanjuan.
At the meeting, Professor Wu Nanping delivered a report on the laboratory’s work summary for 2025 and work plan for 2026. The report comprehensively reviewed the laboratory’s construction achievements in the past year and systematically elaborated key work arrangements for the new year. Committee members fully affirmed the annual construction progress. They agreed that the laboratory has entered a steady stage of standardized and regulated operation, with all key tasks advancing steadily. Remarkable phased achievements have been made in platform construction, scientific and technological innovation, talent cultivation and achievement transformation, laying a solid foundation for high-quality development in the future.
Centering on national scientific and technological innovation strategies and cutting-edge industrial development trends, the Academic Committee put forward systematic guidance suggestions for the laboratory’s future development. The committee clarified that the laboratory shall align with national and Shandong provincial strategic demands and international frontiers in biomedicine. It shall further refine research orientations, strive to tackle core key technologies and produce original and pioneering research outcomes. Efforts will be made to deepen institutional reform, innovate research management, evaluation and incentive mechanisms with error tolerance, and improve standardized regulatory systems. Greater efforts will also be devoted to introducing high-level talents and cultivating local outstanding researchers.
On behalf of the laboratory, Wu Nanping expressed sincere gratitude to all committee members for their guidance and support. She stated that the laboratory will fully adopt and earnestly implement all opinions raised at the meeting. It will keep optimizing development layout, advancing scientific research innovation, improving institutional mechanisms, gathering high-caliber talents and promoting industrial application. The laboratory will strive to build a high-level comprehensive research platform covering the whole industrial chain, boost innovative progress in China’s microecology and biomedicine sector, and contribute to the high-quality growth of the biomedical industry.
