On 2 March 2026, Director Geng Xingyi of Jinan Municipal Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, accompanied by Director Liu Hui and Deputy Director Zhao Baotian of the Microbiology Testing Institute, visited the Jinan Microecological Biomedicine Shandong Laboratory for an exchange. Executive Deputy Director Wu Nanping attended the symposium.
The delegation toured the laboratory's exhibition hall, multi-omics platform, and large-scale instrument open-access platform. They gained detailed insights into the laboratory's research strategy, core achievements, platform development and operations, industrialisation progress, and technical capabilities. The visitors expressed high praise for the laboratory's innovative capacity and platform development standards within the field of microecological biomedicine.
At the symposium, Wu Nanping extended a warm welcome to the delegation on behalf of the laboratory and outlined its progress in fundamental research, key technological breakthroughs, and achievement transformation within microbiome biomedicine. She expressed the laboratory's willingness to leverage its technological, platform, and talent resources to establish a long-term cooperative mechanism with Jinan CDC. This collaboration would focus on joint scientific research and achievement transformation, collectively advancing the high-quality development of Jinan's public health sector. Liu Hui remarked that the Jinan CDC and the laboratory share high compatibility and vast potential for collaboration in microbial research, disease prevention and control, and testing and inspection. He expressed hope that this exchange would serve as an opportunity to further strengthen technical alignment and resource sharing, thereby advancing scientific research and technology to better serve public health practice.
