On 9 September 2025, the Jinan Municipal Party Committee Standing Committee convened an enlarged meeting at the Jinan International Medical Centre to deliberate on accelerating the development of the medical centre. Liu Qiang, Secretary of the Jinan Municipal Party Committee, presided over the meeting and delivered remarks.
Prior to the meeting, members of the Standing Committee and relevant municipal leaders conducted an on-site inspection of theJinan Microecological Biomedicine Shandong Laboratory. They toured the laboratory exhibition hall and multiple core research platforms, gaining detailed insights into the laboratory's strategic positioning, development history, research directions, platform operations, talent development, and phased research achievements. They expressed full affirmation of the laboratory's innovative research endeavours in the field of microbiome biomedicine. Wu Nanping, Executive Deputy Director of the laboratory, accompanied by Deputy Directors Li Xingang and Jiang Chunping, accompanied the delegation during the inspection.
