On 2 September, the Huaiyin District People's Congress conducted its ‘Empowering Quality Enhancement and Excellence: Striving to Be Representative Vanguards’ – 2025 Wujiabao District People's Congress Representatives' ‘Dual Engagement’ Initiative, visiting the Jinan Microecological Biomedicine Shandong Laboratory for on-site research and learning exchanges. Xiong Gaoxiang, Director of the Standing Committee of Huaiyin District People's Congress and Secretary of the Party Leadership Group; Yue Renqiang, Member of the Party Leadership Group of the Standing Committee, Director of the Office, and First-Level Researcher; Fan Huafeng, Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Wujiabao Subdistrict; and several district People's Congress deputies participated in the event. Wu Nanping, Executive Deputy Director of the Laboratory, accompanied the delegation.
The delegates toured the laboratory's exhibition hall and multiple key research platforms, gaining detailed insights into its strategic positioning, development history, research layout, talent cultivation, and innovation commercialisation. Both parties engaged in in-depth discussions on key issues including the laboratory's future commercialisation implementation and industrial cooperation, expressing high praise for its series of scientific achievements and industrial application prospects.
Xiong Gaoxiang emphasised that as a key provincially-deployed research institution, the laboratory has demonstrated remarkable achievements in platform development, talent aggregation, and technological breakthroughs, injecting fresh impetus into the regional biopharmaceutical industry.
Wu Nanping extended a warm welcome to the delegates and expressed gratitude for the sustained support from the District People's Congress and relevant departments. She stated that the laboratory would remain closely aligned with national strategies and regional development needs, continuously deepening innovation in scientific research mechanisms, strengthening core technological breakthroughs, accelerating the construction of a first-class innovation hub, and deeply integrating with local industrial development to provide robust scientific and technological support for Huaiyin District's high-quality development.
