1. Introduction of the unit
Jinan Microecology Biomedical Shandong Laboratory (hereinafter referred to as "Laboratory") is a new type of R&D institution jointly built by Shandong Province and Jinan City, registered and established on August 13, 2021, located in Jinan International Medical Science Center.
The laboratory is jointly built by the State Key Laboratory of Infectious Disease Diagnosis and Treatment of Zhejiang University, and the cooperative units are Shandong University and Shandong First Medical University (Shandong Provincial Medical Academy). Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and academician of the State Key Laboratory of Diagnosis and Treatment of Infectious Diseases, Li Lanjuan, is a legal person and serves as the director of the laboratory.
Focusing on the national strategic needs of the field of "microecological biomedicine" and the frontier of international science and technology, the laboratory focuses on the construction of three strategic research directions of "microecology and infection", "microecology and aging" and "microecology and subversive biomedical technology". With the aim of "domestic leading, irreplaceable, world-class and leading development", jinan microecological biomedical laboratory is guided by the major strategic needs of the country and the frontier of science and technology in the world, focusing on the field of "micro-ecological biomedicine", benchmarking international advanced experimental facilities, focusing on the construction of three strategic research directions of "micro-ecology and infection", "micro-ecology and aging" and "micro-ecology and subversive biomedical technology".
Academician Li Lanjuan and Academician Xu Jianguo served as the discipline leaders in the direction of microecology and infection; Academician Gu Xiaosong and Academician Zhang Yun served as the discipline leaders in the direction of microecology and aging; Academician Zheng Shusen and Academician Chen Zijiang served as the discipline leaders in the direction of microecological biotechnology.
The laboratory will extensively carry out cutting-edge scientific exploration, innovative talent training, public scientific research platform construction, and transformation of scientific and technological achievements, create a new base for the cultivation of innovative talents, a new source of high and new technologies, and a new engine for achievement incubation, and build a complete innovation chain in the field of micro-ecological biomedicine from "basic theoretical innovation", "key technological breakthrough", "industrialization implementation" to "promotion and application", and become an international leading scientific research innovation and achievement transformation platform.
