The National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) has issued the "2024 NSFC-Hong Kong Research Grants Council Young Scholars Forum Programme Guidelines". The related matters are notified as follows:
I. Project Description
This project belongs to the International (Regional) Cooperation and Exchange Programme of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC).
(I) Funding Fields and Application Codes
Medical Science (application code 1 must choose the code under H), etc.
(II) Funding intensity and content
The funding intensity is the direct cost not exceeding 200,000 RMB/item, and there is no indirect cost for this project.
Funding content: To fund exchange activities for organising conferences in the Mainland.
II. Conditions for Applicants
According to the Measures for the Administration of International (Regional) Cooperation and Exchange Projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, applicants for this project must meet the following conditions:
1. The applicant's age requirement is 45 years old and below, and he/she must have the title of senior professional and technical positions.
2. The applicant should be the host or the main participant of a three-year (inclusive) or more NSF research project under study that will be completed on or after 31 December 2025 (the main participant should be agreed by the person in charge of the project under study).
3. The applicant should be the actual person in charge of the collaborative exchange project under application, limited to one person.
4. The applicant should have a good foundation of cooperation with researchers in Hong Kong.
III. Regulations for Limited Application
1. This programme is an international (regional) collaborative exchange programme, and is not subject to the requirement of "the total number of applications and projects is limited to two".
2. The applicant shall not be subject to the requirement that he/she can only apply for one project of the same type in the same year.
3. The total number of NSFC-RGC collaborative exchange projects that an applicant applies for as an applicant and is undertaking as a project leader is limited to one.
4. Other restrictions on the number of applications as stated in the "2024 NSFC Project Guidelines".
Receipt of Project Application
The deadline for receiving online application in the Network Information System of Science Foundation is 22 April 2024 at 16:00 pm.
