On December 25th, the expert demonstration meeting of the construction plan of "Jinan Microecological Biomedical Shandong Laboratory" settled in Jinan International Medical Science Center was held in Shandong Building.
The expert group consists of Shen Hongbing, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and president of Nanjing Medical University, Yu Jinming, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and president of Shandong Provincial Cancer Hospital, Liu Liang, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and president of Macau University of Science and Technology, Tan Weihong, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and director of the Institute of Basic Medicine and Oncology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Xiang Chunsheng, professor of Zhejiang University, Zhu Baoli, researcher of the Institute of Microbiology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Li Xingang, distinguished professor of Shandong University and president of the Institute of Brain and Brain-like Sciences of Shandong University. The meeting was presided over by Yu Shuliang, deputy director of the Science and Technology Department of Shandong Province, and Shen Hongbing was the leader of the group, and the construction of the laboratory was demonstrated. Li Lanjuan, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and director of the State Key Laboratory of Diagnosis and Treatment of Infectious Diseases, attended and delivered a speech. Sun Bin, vice mayor of Jinan, attended and delivered a speech.
At the meeting, Xiao Yonghong, deputy director of the State Key Laboratory of Infectious Disease Diagnosis and Treatment, made a report on the "Jinan Microecological Biomedical Shandong Laboratory Construction Plan". The expert group listened carefully to the report and after full discussion, fully affirmed the construction plan of the laboratory, and agreed that the laboratory construction plan is relatively mature, the platform construction is thoughtful, the research direction layout is reasonable, and the construction can be accelerated in accordance with the established goals and with the support of the province and the city, and the expert group unanimously agreed that the laboratory construction plan was demonstrated.
At the same time, the Expert Group also put forward constructive opinions and suggestions. Academician Shen Hongbing said that it is very necessary to choose the theme of "micro-ecology", which can connect basic research, clinical research and industrial transformation to become bigger and stronger, and will occupy a place in the national laboratory system in the future. Academician Liu Liang suggested that the laboratory should focus on breakthroughs in the pathogenesis of major diseases, in innovative technology research and diagnosis and treatment technology, and in the research and development of some innovative drugs. In terms of introducing international and domestic high-level talents, the academicians and experts unanimously said that the laboratory should spare no effort to attract talents through personnel policies, academic platforms, institutional innovation, and project-driven, and set up the laboratory as soon as possible.
Sun Bin expressed his sincere thanks to the expert group for its trust and support to Jinan. He said that Jinan Will conscientiously absorb the opinions and suggestions of the participating experts, implement the construction funds and support policies such as talent introduction, platform construction, and major special projects as soon as possible, and strive to build the Jinan Microecological Biomedical Shandong Provincial Laboratory into an internationally renowned medical innovation highland and talent introduction highland.
Yu Shuliang concluded that the Shandong Provincial Science and Technology Department will work with Jinan City to further revise and improve the construction plan according to the opinions and suggestions of experts to ensure that the laboratory is landed as soon as possible, and also hopes that academicians and experts will give more support in the future construction and development of the laboratory.
