On August 13, 2021, with the strong support of governments and competent departments at all levels in Shandong Province and Jinan City, the Jinan Microecological Biomedical Provincial Laboratory completed the registration of public institution legal person and officially announced its establishment. Since then, this new R&D institution jointly built by provinces and cities, led by academicians and bringing together the resources of 16 academicians of the two academies has opened a new journey towards an internationally leading platform for scientific research innovation and achievement transformation.
Over the past year, in the process of the construction of Jinan laboratory, it has received strong support and care from leaders and competent departments at provincial, municipal and district levels, and leaders at all levels have made remarkable progress and achievements in the construction of the laboratory in all aspects through various methods such as research and visits, special work meetings, on-site office meetings, etc., with the attitude and determination of "stepping on stones and leaving marks on iron".
Jinan Microecology Biomedical Provincial Laboratory, also known as "Jinan Laboratory", is represented by Academician Li Lanjuan, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and State Key Laboratory of Infectious Disease Diagnosis and Treatment, as the legal representative and laboratory director. Adhering to the tenet of "domestic leading, irreplaceable, world-class and leading development", we are deeply engaged in the field of microecological biomedicine, guided by the strategic needs of national scientific and technological innovation and the strategic scientific and technological frontier of the international power of biomedicine, and take the international advanced laboratory as the benchmark, forge ahead and move forward steadily.
1.Implement system norms and strictly organize management
On October 23, 2021, Jinan Laboratory held the first meeting of the first council and the first director committee meeting, and the first academic committee meeting the next day, laying the development foundation and pointing out the way forward for major matters such as laboratory construction promotion, scientific research development, and institutionalized management. Over the past year, the laboratory has strictly followed the requirements and decisions of the Council and the Academic Committee, fully promoted scientific research development, hardware construction, system construction and talent construction, implemented various organizational management norms and systems, and established a complete and mature laboratory operation system.
2.Lay a solid hardware foundation and lay the cornerstone for development
Jinan Laboratory Building is located in Jinan International Medical Science Center, located in Building 7, Phase I of Jinan Medical and Health Science and Technology Innovation Industrial Park. After the bidding determined the design general contracting unit and process design unit of the renovation project of the laboratory building, the relevant functional departments and supervisors of the laboratory fully supervised the relevant work, rushed the work without leave and went all out to complete the design of a full set of construction drawings on May 31 in accordance with the requirements of the node of the full-phase master control plan. After the delivery of the construction drawings, the laboratory continued to fully promote the construction project, coordinate the work of all parties, and ensure the smooth progress of the project.
At the same time, the laboratory will also place medical device platforms, GMP workshops and other scientific research facilities in the Precision Medicine Industrial Park of the Medical Center, and build a new scientific research building with large-scale experimental equipment in the second phase of the Medical and Health Technology Innovation Industrial Park. At present, the site selection and inspection of the two scientific research buildings have been completed, and the planning and design related work is being promoted.
3.Scientific research is comprehensively promoted, and Rio Tinto has developed in depth
Focusing on the strategic needs of national scientific and technological innovation in the field of "microecological biomedicine" and the strategic scientific and technological frontier of the international power of biomedicine, Jinan Laboratory focuses on the construction of three strategic research directions of "microecology and infection", "microecology and aging" and "microecology and disruptive biomedical technology", comprehensively promotes scientific research work, and lays a deep foundation for the long-term development of the laboratory.
Since its establishment one year ago, Jinan Laboratory has carried out a total of 49 scientific research projects under the guidance of the established strategy, of which more than 20 projects have scientific research outputs, and 5 projects have more than 3 project outputs, as of August 12, a total of 44 papers have been published, 5 invention patents have been applied, and 1 clinical expert consensus has been published, with outstanding results.
4.Transformation of in-depth research results to seek social benefits
As a new R&D institution, Jinan Laboratory firmly promotes the development model of the whole industrial chain, docks with governments, enterprises, capital, hospitals and scientific research teams, provides technology transfer services and industrial incubation, realizes the accurate docking of information and resources inside and outside the laboratory, and promotes collaborative innovation in medicine, government, industry, learning, research, capital and use.
At present, the laboratory has made remarkable progress in the protection and transformation of scientific and technological achievements. All research projects have been investigated on potential transformable scientific and technological achievements, focusing on nearly 10 products under development, and the pre-incubation of related scientific and technological achievements has been carried out. At the same time, the laboratory has also formed a relatively complete customer research map, paying attention to the transformation trend of scientific and technological achievements in the industry and actively broadening the road of achievement transformation.
5.Strengthen comprehensive management and achieve stable development
Jinan Laboratory has always adhered to the principle of strict management and compliance with regulations, continuously strengthened system construction, improved management level, and provided guarantee for the stable development of the laboratory.
In terms of talent introduction, the laboratory actively improves the construction of talent echelons. Increase the introduction of top high-end talents, and simultaneously implement multi-channel recruitment, introducing a large number of outstanding scientific research workers and master's and doctoral students. At present, Jinan Laboratory and Shandong First Medical University will jointly enroll 10 graduate students and more than 70 staff members in 2022, including 3 academicians, 5 national talents such as Jieqing and Youqing, and 10 provincial talents such as Taishan scholars, and plan to reach the scale of 100 by the end of the year.
On August 2, the laboratory began a one-month training for new employees of the class of 2022, and the director of the laboratory, Academician Li Lanjuan, taught the "first course of entry" to the newcomers, and simultaneously conducted administrative affairs training and scientific research.
In terms of spiritual and cultural construction, the laboratory is committed to creating a good internal and external environment and atmosphere. 6.Carry out party building in a down-to-earth manner and do a good job in cultural construction
