In order to effectively strengthen safety management, eliminate potential safety hazards and ensure stable operation of the laboratory, Jinan Microecological Biomedicine Shandong Laboratory carried out a safety inspection on 24th January. The Department of Laboratory Conditions and Security, the Party and Government Office, the personnel in charge of each research platform and the staff of Jinan Dongcheng AVIC Property Management Co., Ltd. jointly formed a safety inspection team, which carried out inspections of fire safety, production safety and biosafety on all floors.
The inspection comprehensively covered all areas of the laboratory, focusing on the key areas of laboratory safety management to ensure that there are no safety dead corners. In strict accordance with the relevant standards and norms, the production safety team carried out detailed inspections on several key aspects, such as management and disposal of hazardous chemicals, safe use of gas cylinders, operation of experimental equipment and special equipment, equipping of fire-fighting facilities, regulation of water and electricity consumption as well as safeguarding of emergency supplies, etc., so as to effectively improve the comprehensiveness and effectiveness of the laboratory's safety management.
During the inspection process, the production safety team asked all regions to always uphold the principle of ‘safety first, prevention first’, and put safety management in the first place of scientific research work. In response to the various safety issues found during the inspection, the team clearly defined the responsible parties and requested the relevant parties to take immediate action to ensure that the corrective measures are quickly and comprehensively put in place, so as to ensure that no hidden problems are left behind and no delays in rectification are made. In addition, the production safety team on duty during the Spring Festival in the laboratory has also carried out careful planning and arrangements, the establishment of a full-coverage, normalised safety inspection mechanism to ensure that the laboratory can operate safely and stably.
